Dr.J.Meenakshi is a Fashion Designer from Chennai, Master Trainer in Apparel & Soft Skills.

Trainer cum specialist in delivering various apparel Skills from NSQF Level 1 to 10 from the

grass root level to a higher degree in Fashion & Apparel. Her passion Is fashion. Coordinator

& designer for Fashion Shows & Cultural events. Aiming to develop garments with rich

designs in Aari & Traditional Embroidery for the modern era.

 

She holds a Doctorate in Fashion Technology, a Master’s Degree in Costume and Fashion Design, a Diploma in Embroidery & Tailoring, a Diploma in Sewing and Design, along with various certificate programmes in different job roles within the apparel sector. Currently, she is dedicated to researching and reviving the rich legacy of traditional embroidery designs—transforming them into innovative creations that meet modern standards of style and comfort, especially in Bridal Wear and Ethnic Wear.

 

Meena's versatile knowledge in design ideas, illustrations & sketching, fashion forecast,

traditional embroidery, Textile Science, Pattern Making Techniques, construction and

Development, Apparel Production, Home Textiles, Methods and Work Techniques of

Garment Construction, Measurement methods & work-study and Trade job roles: Sewing,

Quality, Merchandising, Inline-Checking, Finishing & Packing, Press Man, Manufacturing.

Process and Finishing guided enough small entrepreneurs in the apparel sector as a career

development.

 

She is Self-disciplined, dynamic, sincere, passionate, approachable, speedy, neat,

manipulative, Quality, Attitude towards the work with accurate & precise having won &

recognized as the best Student and best tutor during her course of Study & Institutional work.

 

Her specialized core & competency skills with professional knowledge in theoretical and

practical with multi-language fluency enabled hundreds of students to choose Fashion &

Apparel as their profession. She aims to position herself as a socially responsible person to train underprivileged individuals to improve their skills and upgrade their living standards. This effort particularly focuses on certifying women in the population.

 

Her Institutional work includes teaching for Diploma in Fashion Design & Apparel

Manufacturing Technology, Certificate Programmes in Sewing, Pattern Making, Quality,

CAD, Embroidery, Master Trainer for Personality Advancement & Career Enhancement

Programme, Master Trainer for Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) for the Apparel Industry

for Skilling & upskilling programmes. Almost thousands of students & employees have

been skilled by her during her tenure of work.

 

Having a decade of rich Institutional experiences, both in theory and practical to all sectors

of people, now directing "MEENAKSHI INSTITUTE AND BOUTIQUE” for her research activities in

design with the golden concept of “Earn while you Learn” to create designers and

boutique owners. Yesteryears, heading her own institute in collaboration & affiliation

with USHA International Limited, a Sewing School network across the State.

 

In the recent past was an instrumental designer of garments for Sakthi Amaran in the Super

Signer, a TV programme. Participated with selected students for Fashion shows organized

at Vel Tech Engineering College and the NIFT campus.
